How to download a photo from a camera to a Mac

1.Take a photo on your camera.

2. Using a Fire-wire Cable or an SD Card, connect your camera to a Mac.

3. The cable will connect to the Mac via the back of the computer or the memory card will slide into a slot on the side of the monitor.

4. On the computers desktop will appear an icon usually entitled ‘Untitled’, if the cable or card is named, the name will come up.

5. Click on this icon. Files will appear from either on the camera or on the cameras memory card. Highlight the photos you would like to use and upload to the Mac.

6. Drag these images onto your desktop and rename them appropriately. Create a sub folder within your photography folder; drag the images on your desktop into your new designated folder. The images will then save into this folder.

7. Back on the desktop, right click on the icon for the cable or memory card and select ‘Eject’. Without doing this you may damage or lose data from the camera or memory card. Once the icon has disappeared from the desktop, it is safe to remove the cable or card as it has been ejected properly.
