Black and White Theme - Beach

I took this photograph because it represents a typical British holiday at the seaside. I like this photograph as it is a long shot and so a lot of detail can be captured. I also like having the photo in black and white because the different tones represent areas of sunlight and shade. I edited this photograph by changing it to black and white.

I took this photograph because the dog is in a standing position which is unusual and interesting. I like this photograph because it is unique and the black and white tones show where shadows are and the different tones in the fur. I edited this photograph by turning it black and white.

Black and White Theme - Queens College

I took this photograph because I thought that the image would look interesting as it is symmetrical but also because the black and white gradients would emphasize the details on the building. I like this photograph because in the sky you can see the clouds through the different tones of black and white. I also like this because the black and white effect makes the photograph look old fashioned and gloomy. I edited this photograph by changing it to black and white.

Black and White Theme - Daffodil

I took this photograph because I got the inspiration from a professional photograph of a daffodil in black and white. I like this photograph because all of the focus is on the head of one of the daffodils and you can see through the different shades of white where light is shining on to the head of the flower and where shadows have been formed. I edited this photograph by changing it to black and white.

My photograph differs from the professional one as my background is not solid black but is just a normal background that is out of focus and has been changed to black and white. Also my photograph is more of a birds eye view of the flower instead of a straight on close up.

I took this photograph because of the contrast between the bright light bulb inside and the darkness outside of it. I like this photograph because such a bright light fades to black making the image look scary and gives a haunted feel to the photo. I edited this photograph by changing it to black and white.

Black and White Theme - Bluebells

I took this photograph because of all the different colours that were present in real life, I thought that the different colours would translate into different tones and shades of black and white and they have. I like this photograph because the main bluebell is in focus whereas the others are slightly out of focus. You can see a lot of detail in this photograph and the where there are different shades of black and white you can tell where there would be different colours. I edited this photograph by changing it black and white.

Black and White Theme - Sign

I took this photograph because originally the sign was a vibrant red and so I thought that by turning it black and white, the vibrant red would change to a deep black, as it has. I like this photograph because the writing sticks out from the background of the sign and the wall that the sign is attached to gets darker as you move down the photograph. I edited this photo by changing it to black and white.
