Black and White Theme - Lanterns

I took this picture because I imagined this photograph in black and white before I edited it and knew that all of the different colours would be shown by the different shades of black and white and I thought that would look interesting. I like this photograph because there is a dark lantern which is the key feature of the photograph but there are also much lighter lanterns in the background which you notice afterwards. I edited this photo by adjusting the black and white levels to get the shades of black and white that I was happy with.

Netball Theme - Netball trainers

I took this photograph because professional netball players have professional netball trainers. I like this photograph because the filter used gives the photo a gloomy and serious effect and the position in which the feet are allows us to see almost all angles of the trainers. I cropped this photograph so the only the trainers were in it and used the filter Fresco to add the serious and darker effect.

Netball Theme - Chest pass

I took this photograph because it demonstrates another key technique in netball, the chest pass. I like this photograph because the player looks as though she is passing the ball directly to the camera. The only step I completed to edit this photo was to crop it so that extra and unnecessary background was not included.

Netball Theme - The ball

I took this photograph to show a professional ball that would be used in a game. I like this photograph as there is nothing else in it, just the ball and so all the attention is on the main feature. I used the Polygonal Lasso Tool to cut around the ball so that I had just a clear background instead of having one that would drag attention away from the ball.

Netball Theme - Overarm throw

I took this photo because it shows a signature throw used in netball, the overarm throw. I like this it looks as though she is about to throw the ball directly at the camera. I cropped this image so that only the player was in it and I changed the image to black and white to make it more interesting. I like the black and white element of the photograph because it makes the photograph look a lot more interesting and makes the image sharper.

Netball Theme - Watching the ball

I took this photograph because it shows a netball playing looking at the ball before play, it looks as though the player is about to set up a 'toss up' where two players have to compete for the ball. I like this photograph as the player looks so calm and content but the effect used on the photograph gives it a much more serious and competitive edge. I cropped this photograph so that only the player and ball is included in the photograph. I also used a filter called Fresco to make the photograph look more edgy and interesting.

Netball Theme - Standing either side of the ball

I took this photograph as it shows two key features of netball, the ball and the trainers. I also took it to show that the player is always in control of the ball which is shown through the person's feet being either side of the ball keeping it still. I like this photograph because the ball and trainers are beaten as though they have been over used. I cropped this photograph so that unnecessary background wasn't included, only the ball and trainers.

Netball Theme - Preparing to shoot

I took this photograph as one of the main aims in netball is to win and to win you have to shoot. This photograph symbolizes the role of the Goal Shooter or Goal Attack. I like this photograph because even though it is really dark, certain parts of the image is illuminated and draws attention.
I cropped this photograph so that only the key features were apart of it and decreased the brightness level to get the photograph darker but left the contrast level as neutral so that certain aspects of the photograph would look as though to be glowing.

Netball Theme - On the ball

I took this photograph because it shows that the player is in control of the ball and the game. I like this photograph because it is so simple, has so much detail within it and easily relates to my chosen theme.
I cropped this photograph so that only the features necessary for the photograph were in it. I also changed the photograph so that is was in black and white, I did this because it makes the photograph look more professional and more interesting.
